Therapeutic Support Tailored to You and Your Family

Every person and family is different. That’s why I offer a flexible range of support options, from brief, early intervention through to intensive, systemic therapy, depending on the nature and complexity of what’s happening.

My work focuses on supporting children, young people, and families experiencing emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges such as:

  • Anxiety, worry, and overthinking

  • Low mood, motivation, and depression

  • Emotional regulation and anger

  • Stress, burnout, and adjustment to change

  • Family and relationship difficulties

  • Trauma and the impact of past experiences

  • Parenting support and confidence building

  • Neurodiversity and related social–emotional challenges

My approach is grounded in collaboration, practical strategies, and helping each person make meaningful change both in and outside the therapy room.

Early Intervention and Brief Support

For children, teens, or young adults who are beginning to show signs of distress, worry, or difficulty coping with change.

Early intervention focuses on emotional literacy, coping skills, and strengthening the supports around the individual.

May include:

  • Developing emotional literacy and self-awareness

  • Teaching coping strategies for anxiety or worry

  • Supporting confidence and social connection

  • Strengthening routines and self regulation

  • Coaching parents or carers in responding to big emotions

  • Building collaboration between home and school

  • Identifying protective factors and early patterns of resilience

Therapy for Ongoing or Complex Needs

For individuals or families experiencing more multi-layered or enduring challenges, I offer intensive, holistic support that goes beyond individual therapy.

This level of work involves deeper exploration, more frequent collaboration, and closer integration between the home, school, and professional systems around the person (where appropriate).

Therapy moves at a slower, more reflective pace to uncover patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and foster meaningful, lasting change. The process is immersive and tailored — designed to meet the complexity of each person and family system.

May include:

  • Exploring and understanding long-standing patterns of anxiety, low mood, or stress

  • Intensive emotion regulation and self-compassion work

  • Addressing entrenched family conflict or communication breakdowns

  • Supporting behavioural and relational change across environments

  • Processing trauma or difficult life experiences

  • Developing highly individualised strategies for school, work, or relationships

  • Regular coordination with other professionals (e.g. psychiatrist, paediatrician, or school team) to ensure consistent, wraparound support

Systemic Support

Looks beyond the individual to address the broader environment and relationships that influence wellbeing.

May include:

  • Joint parent–child or family sessions to strengthen understanding and connection

  • Supporting co-parenting after separation or divorce

  • Guiding blended families in adjusting to new dynamics

  • Working with schools, educators, or support workers for consistency across settings

  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams for holistic care

  • Providing consultation or psychoeducation to enhance the system’s capacity to support the child or young person

Therapy across the stages

Children

I help children understand their feelings, build emotional language, and develop confidence in expressing themselves. Sessions are creative and playful, with close collaboration between parents, teachers, and other supports.

Common areas of support:

  • Separation anxiety and school avoidance

  • Emotional outbursts or meltdowns

  • Friendship and social difficulties

  • Rigid or repetitive behaviours

  • Worry, perfectionism, or fears

Teens

Adolescence can be a time of heightened emotion, identity exploration, and pressure to “get it right.” I work with teens to manage anxiety, low mood, friendship challenges, and self-esteem issues, while helping parents understand and support their teen’s unique needs.

Focus areas:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Low mood, motivation, and confidence

  • Peer and friendship challenges

  • Family tension and communication

  • Perfectionism and self-criticism

  • Study stress and exam pressure

Young Adults (18–35 years)

The early adult years often bring new freedoms — and new pressures. Study, work, relationships, and self-discovery can all impact mental health.

I work with young adults to build emotional awareness, strengthen resilience, and create a sense of stability and meaning in daily life.

Support areas include:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and burnout

  • Low mood, self-doubt, or loss of motivation

  • Stress from study, work, or relationships

  • Perfectionism and pressure to achieve

  • Family conflict or independence challenges

  • Adjustment to parenthood

  • Navigating neurodiversity and self-acceptance

  • Processing trauma or past experiences

Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and develop tools for balance, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing.

Parents & Families

Family life is full of transitions — from the early parenting years to adolescence and beyond. I work with parents to understand their child’s emotional world, foster calm and connection at home, and support healthy communication after separation or divorce.

This may include:

  • Understanding and supporting a child’s needs

  • Rebuilding relationships after conflict or separation

  • Strengthening co-parenting communication

  • Adjusting to blended family dynamics

  • Managing parental stress and reactivity

Parent sessions can run alongside individual therapy or as stand-alone support.

Treatment Modalities

  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy

  • Trauma Informed Therapy

  • Theraplay

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
